AI "portals" - I trialed Mammouth.ai and it was surprisingly good for it's price as well as it's truly European option. Worst of their limits is the document limit, which seriously restricts usage of longer prompts or data with prompts. Other limitations are understandable, but that one is quite painfully low limit. Of course they also provide many free models.
Envs.sh anonymous temporary file sharing service got closed, at least there's 0x0 null pointer which still works.
Matrix systemic flaw it just doesn't work. They've been fixing it for 6 years and it's still broken. Great job guys! Just as usual getting basics and UX good is forgotten because nerds like tech stuff and actual UX doesn't matter. Fact, explaining how bleep is good, yet it doesn't work. Constant crashing insane slowness many tasks taking several days etc... Incredible garbage unfortunately. I really wish this wouldn't be true, but unfortunately it is. SimpleX is hopefully soon going to be so much better than Matrix.
Matrix Element X - Another UX / design flaw. You can't get rid of deleted invites. Those linger persistently in your chats. Great for spammers. CANCEL works but doesn't do anything except cancels of course. And accept and decline options both give just error. - Classic engineering and failure to understand how programs should practically work.
Slow DB - Ahh, web apps, classic chatty protocol and database server side without indexes. Classic common issue with databases, which makes stuff insanely slow. One DBA just was asking why program is making constant table scans. Well, it's your view that I'm just using as instructed. Your job, just deal with it.
CFA - Encountered highly confusing issues with Windows directory handling and Python 3.14 version. As example os.mkdir('test') failed, as well as os.mkdirs('test') and also timedrotatingloghandler failed to create files inside existing directory. With Pyhton 3.12 same code works perfectly, with Python 3.14 it fails. AI told me immediately that it's permission or ghost / zombie directory. Well, I personally though that the invalid cwd would be the reason as well for some reason. But after cross checking it several times, it's not. Ie. I launch python import os check getcwd() and it's exactly what it's supposed to be, then I call mkdir('stuff') and it fails... I exit Python, write in PowerShell mkdir "stuff" and it works out exactly as expected... Sigh, sigh, sigh... But the truth is that it's about Controlled Folder Access (CFA) (@ Wikipedia) and that's the root cause. Nice thing is that it doesn't say anything about it, it just looks like things being very broken, without any clear reason. It would be nice to KNOW what's the reason instead of having long list to guess thorough what it is all about this time. - This is one of the great things, which manages to ite you (and others) time after time.
Refreshed my memory about CRA and EN18031 / RED (@ Wikipedia) directives.
Started to use webauthn_proxy (@ GitHub) for several light sites and services. It's actually wonderful light PassKey/Passkeys implementation allowing proper key based authentication with minimal setup and light configuration. Now I can securely login with my keys to my own services, without providing passwords / static credentials. - Great secure alternative to simple BASIC AUTH (@ Wikipedia). kw: FIDO2/U2F/PassKeys/WebAuthn (@ Wikipedia)
You.com - The service's "privacy / private mode" aka "Nonpermanent mode - Your chats are temporary and will not appear in your chat history. We may keep a copy of uploaded documents for internal business needs such as product improvements and maintenance." is broken, even if chats are flagged private it doesn't work at all. Flag is ignored. This is very clear failure on their side. They said they have some privacy / security certifications. I can honestly say the situation is unacceptable, particularly if they hold a certification where the certifier was simply paid to sign it without actually doing their job. kw: you.com, "You.com | AI Search Infrastructure for Enterprise Teams", "Deliver immediate value with the leading AI search infrastructure."
